This Saturday, August 12, 2023, Teatower will be present at the Beau Vélo de RAVeL for the third time this season. This time, it's in Hannut, and nearly 2,000 people are expected. Two routes will be offered: 30.8 km or the 15 km family loop.

Beau Vélo de RAVeL this Saturday, August 12 in Hannut

(Source: RTBF) The Hannut region is divided between the hydrographic basins of the Meuse and the Escaut (Scheldt). The town is crossed by a Roman road connecting Bavai to Cologne. It hosted an illustrious scientist, Zénobe Gramme, the inventor of the dynamo.

We will cross Villers-le-Peuplier, Crehen, and Thisnes before taking a short break at Grand-Hallet. This is where a rather unusual world record was set, which is also in the Guinness Book: a resident, Yvette Dardenne, has the world's largest collection of lithographed tin boxes. In her museum, she explains her passion and the stories hidden behind them. Visits by appointment!

Cycling in the Burdinale Valleys Nature Park

Next, in the vicinity of Avernas-le-Bauduin, we will take the RAVeL of the former railway line 127. This route allows you to travel, on its own site, a large part of the Burdinale and Mehaigne Valleys Nature Park, as well as the Hesbaye plateau.

We will exit the trail at Bertrée to return to Hannut via the villages of Cras-Avernas, Trognée, Abolens, Blehen, Lens, and Poucet. Hannut is home to many castles and castle-farms, which are said to rival those of the Loire Valley. The oldest is in Trognée, dating from the 16th century. The one in Moxhe is listed as Walloon real estate heritage.

Come taste the Nana de Wépion and Citron Meringué (Lemon Meringue) in iced format

Audrey, Lili, and Stephan will be present to offer you a refreshing moment.
