Discover the Exclusive Ceramic Collection by Les Imparfaites for Teatower

To celebrate the launch of our capsule collection, created in collaboration with Les imparfaites céramiques, we introduce you to its creator in this blog article.

A Walloon artisan whose talent we wanted to highlight by offering you her unique creations, handcrafted and created with heart. High-quality accessories that will bring a singular style, character, and authenticity to your tea time.

If some of you know me through my work, it's time to lift the veil and let you discover who is behind Les imparfaites.

I'm Clémentine, 31 years old, originally from Durbuy and an art teacher. It is partly thanks to this work that I started ceramics. In fact, when I started working, I discovered a kiln and a potter's wheel in my new classroom (to which I initially paid little attention). With time, I thought it would be interesting to use them with my students to explore new paths... I then turned to an initiated friend to discover this world and understand the basics. This discovery, made during the first lockdown, turned into a revelation, as contact with clay soothes me.

I like the technical aspect of the wheel and the challenges it brings. Whether it's in the amount of clay to use, the positioning of the hands to be more efficient, the creation of my pieces, or the attempt to design objects I have never made before. The more I train, the more new goals I develop (such as fully mastering throwing or creating my own glazes). Learning ceramics is endless, which is what makes it so fascinating.

It's thanks to the social network Instagram that I became known. Over the course of my creations and posts, I received more and more positive feedback and compliments, which encouraged me to persevere.

On this social network, comparison and the search for "perfection" are omnipresent. Yet, this didn't prevent my creations from being appreciated. I then realized that it is precisely the small flaws of my ceramics that make them unique... and it was quite naturally that the name "Les imparfaites Céramique" came to mind.

Don't think that "imperfection" means sloppy work; I always have measurements and sketches in mind for each creation, which will, however, remain unique. It's rather the idea that the customer can choose their pieces for their singularity, their small details, and not for their similarity, which is very appealing.

So, whether you are looking to free yourself from this world that some try to present without flaws; whether you recognize yourself, like me, in what some call imperfection; or whether you simply love my creations, don't hesitate to follow me on Instagram via @les_imparfaites_ceramique.

Clémentine.

We are happy to announce the arrival of our capsule collection in collaboration with Clémentine. We are now offering 4 pieces in stores and on our e-shop:

  • Handcrafted ceramic teapot 800ml
  • Handcrafted ceramic cup 300ml
  • Handcrafted ceramic mug 400ml
  • Handcrafted ceramic sugar bowl

Each of them is unique and hand-shaped: from the choice of clay to the glaze, including the design of the shape; each step is the result of a thoughtful process matured with passion and taste by Clémentine. We then worked together to choose the colors, select the 4 pieces for this collection, and customize them with our name.

This capsule collection is an ephemeral collaboration with limited quantities per item. Our aim was to offer you high- quality accessories and to highlight the talent of this local artisan who hopes to turn her passion into a complementary activity.
