Shooting Stars

9pm. The sofa, a blanket, a good book. And in your cup, a rooibos that smells of cinnamon and winter evenings. Shooting Stars is the tea for those who know that the simplest moments are the best.

Shooting Stars is a rooibos infusion with gentle spices — cinnamon, star anise and jasmine flowers. Naturally caffeine-free, it's designed for the end of the day, when you need to unwind without overthinking it.

Tasting Profile

The liquor is a warm amber-red, almost coppery. On the nose, cinnamon takes the lead with warmth, followed by star anise bringing a liquorice-like roundness. On the palate, the rooibos provides a velvety base — naturally sweet, with no bitterness. The jasmine flowers emerge at the end of the sip with a delicate floral touch. The finish is long, warm, and enveloping.

When to Enjoy It?

In the evening, without a doubt. Zero caffeine = zero impact on sleep. It's also perfect for autumn and winter, when the days get shorter and the body craves warmth. For kids? Absolutely — rooibos is the safest infusion for the whole family.

Delicious Pairings

Magical with a speculoos biscuit (cinnamon meets cinnamon), a dark chocolate brownie, or a warm apple tart. On the savoury side, it surprisingly pairs beautifully with a tagine with dried fruits.

Ingredients

Rooibos, cinnamon pieces, whole star anise, flavouring, jasmine flowers.

Brewing Tips

  • Temperature: 90-100°C — nice hot water, rooibos loves the heat
  • Steeping time: 5 to 7 min — the longer it steeps, the more the spices unfold
  • Dosage: 1 heaped teaspoon (3g) per 25cl
  • Caffeine: Caffeine-free (0%)
  • Best enjoyed: In the evening — or honestly, anytime

Did you know? Star anise is one of the oldest spices used in infusions — the Chinese have been drinking it for over 3,000 years. And its natural 8-pointed star shape isn't carved — nature simply gets it right.
