Shooting Stars

9pm. The sofa, a throw, a good book. And in the cup, a rooibos that smells of cinnamon and winter evenings. Shooting Stars is the tea for those who know that the best moments are the simplest ones.

Shooting Stars is a rooibos blend with gentle spices — cinnamon, star anise and jasmine flowers. Naturally caffeine-free, it's designed for the end of the day, when you need to unwind without a second thought.

Tasting profile

The liquor is a warm amber-red, almost copper-hued. On the nose, cinnamon dominates with warmth, followed by star anise bringing a smooth liquorice-like roundness. On the palate, the rooibos serves as a velvety base — naturally sweet, without bitterness. The jasmine flowers reveal themselves at the end of each sip with a delicate floral touch. The finish is long, warm, enveloping.

When to enjoy it?

In the evening, without hesitation. Zero caffeine = zero impact on sleep. It's also perfect in autumn and winter, when days grow shorter and the body craves warmth. For children? Absolutely — rooibos is the safest infusion for the whole family.

Food pairings

Magical with speculoos (cinnamon meets cinnamon), a dark chocolate brownie, or a warm apple tart. On the savoury side, it surprisingly complements a tagine with dried fruits.

Ingredients

Rooibos, cinnamon pieces, whole star anise, flavoring, jasmine flowers.

Brewing instructions

  • Temperature: 90-100 °C — hot water, rooibos loves the heat
  • Steeping time: 5 to 7 min — the longer, the more the spices release
  • Dosage: 1 heaped teaspoon (3 g) for 25 cl
  • Caffeine: Caffeine-free (0%)
  • Perfect moment: Evening — or anytime, really

Did you know? Star anise is one of the oldest spices used in infusions — the Chinese have been drinking it for over 3000 years. And its natural 8-pointed star shape isn't carved. Nature does things beautifully.
