When we say that returns come with a fee, it's not about cutting costs on our end. It's because we take the carbon footprint of every parcel seriously. Here's what that means in practice.

Returns and the environment

A returned parcel means two transport journeys, additional packaging materials, and extra logistics processing. According to industry research, e-commerce returns account for a significant share of online retail's carbon emissions across Europe.

Our approach: a €5.50 contribution (Belgium) on postal returns, to discourage impulse purchases and encourage more considered buying. If you'd like to find out more about a product before ordering, our team is available by email or in store to help you — before you commit to a purchase.

Our packaging

Our tea bags use biodegradable, plastic-free infusers. Our boxes and outer packaging favour recyclable materials throughout. We are working to progressively reduce plastic across our entire packaging chain.

Sourcing and traceability

We select our teas from suppliers with whom we build long-term relationships — not one-off spot purchases. Origin traceability is a priority: every product page includes the terroir and growing region.

We favour organically certified teas where quality genuinely justifies it, and we won't use organic certification as a marketing label if the sensory or agronomic quality isn't truly there.

Grouped orders

We actively encourage combined orders: a single delivery of multiple products has a far lower carbon impact than several small, fragmented shipments. It's also why we offer free delivery from €59.
